Visible Praise

I don’t know where it came from but I love what’s on it!  It’s a small whiteboard on our refrigerator filled with enouragement whiteboard on fridgewords of praise and encouragement for our kids.  We have five kids, ages 10 to 16, and they need encouragement.  How do I know that?  Because we ALL need encouragement!

Imagine walking into your workplace or home and seeing your name on display.  Dale Carnegie wrote that a person’s name is the sweetest and most important sound in any language to them.  If that is true then when a person see’s their name on display, to them it must be a thing of beauty.  Combine that thing of beauty with congratulatory or encouraging words and you’ve just created a masterpiece.

Remember the times when you’ve gotten an email or note with words of praise.  It sure felt good, didn’t it?  Imagine those words of praise on display for your family or peers to see.

I’ve heard it said that recognition is one of man’s most powerful motivators.  Babies cry for it and grown men die for it.

How can you create a platform to make encouragement and praise visible for the people that are important to you?
